COMING 2025

I was right where you were, endlessly scrolling on youtube trying to teach myself photography. My camera sitting on the shelf collecting dust. It wasn't until I had a photographer buddy walk me through how to use my camera in Manual mode, that things started to click (pun intended!). Now I finally understood how to use my camera to create timeless memories of my family.

Let me be that photography buddy, for you!

Since we're already living the 'good old days'

Let me teach you how to freeze time with nostalgic photography that tells your family's story - without the cheese!

From the Mamas

"Courtney is one of the most talented photographers and business women I’ve met. The course so full of information, guidance and support! It was fantastic to practice what we’ve learned straight away and really made me want to continue on this journey and be able to capture my little one growing up. I was so impressed by the photos everyone's taken and full credit goes to Courts - she guided us beautifully through both taking photos and editing them. Thank you, Courtney!"

Elements of a Great Photograph

1. What equipment will I need for this course?

To get the most out of this course you only need a smartphone with the app: Lightroom Mobile, installed, and a DSLR Camera or Mirrorless Camera (you know, the big fancy ones with a detachable lens).

FAQ's

2. I don't have a camera yet, can you help me pick one?

Absolutely. You can take our Camera Quiz ahead of time, or start the course which will explain the types of cameras and camera lenses as well as the few other recommended pieces of equipment.

FAQ's

3. will the course teach me all kinds of photography?

This course focuses in on photographing your kids, however the skills are transferrable to any kind of portrait photography such as Maternity, Newborn, Family, etc. If you are looking to become a landscape or product photographer (for example) this may not be the right course for you.

FAQ's

4. do you have to be a mama to sign up?

If you're not going to be offended at me repeatedly calling you 'mama', then no! However the online community is for women only. Sorry men! I am a mama myself and really love working with women to help capture their kids.

FAQ's

5. how long do i have to access the course, how long does it take to complete?

You will have access to the course for 12 months. If you still wish to access the course after this time you can renew for another year at a fraction of the cost if it is still available. It is a self-paced course. I recommend a pace of about 1 module per week to allow time for practicing each part however this will differ person to person.

FAQ's

6. how do i get support if I have questions?

Questions can be posted in the private facebook group (anonymous option will be enabled - however we have all been a learner at some point!) I am constantly monitoring the group plus it is great to get insights from the other mama photographers in there.

FAQ's

7. What level of photographer is this course suited to?

The course is suited from the most beginner (haven't ever used their camera) to anyone who is yet to learn to shoot in manual mode,  and considers themselves a beginner. The editing portion is taught on lightroom mobile, so if you are planning on becoming a professional photographer you will need to apply this to the desktop equivelant. The core skills are the same.

FAQ's

8. Are refunds available?

Refunds are strictly only available in the first 7 days to anyone who has completed less than 15% of the course.. Please email hello@mamastalgia.co
